HarmonyOS Next, the next version of Huawei's mobile operating system, has reached an important development milestone. The Chinese manufacturer's platform has now surpassed 10,000 apps that are ready to be made available in its internal store.
The information was confirmed by the president of Huawei's Mobile Cloud division, Zhu Yonggang, during the Huawei Connect 2024 event. The number includes both utility applications and games, as well as meta-services, which act on the basic functionalities of a device. According to Huawei, "99.9% of the consumer's smartphone needs during use " are met by the platform.

Huawei also guarantees that the new apps "deliver high-quality renderings, faster transitions, smoother function execution, and easy-to-use features." The manufacturer adopted more than 470 development kits in the process.
The availability of native apps or apps offered through its digital store was seen as one of the company's biggest challenges. After all, it needed to convince new or veteran developers to launch a version of their apps for the service, which still has limited availability.
