After countless rumors, speculations and heated debates, Sony finally revealed this Tuesday, September 10, the PS5 Pro. The announcement came through a "technical presentation" event, where the chief architect and longtime PlayStation veteran, Mark Cerny, showed the public the first glimpses of the new console of the house.
The PS5 Pro's technical presentation lasted just nine minutes, giving fans a taste of what's coming. The PS5 Pro will be released on November 7 — so it should be on shelves by the end of the year.
♦ PS5 Pro Design ♦
Despite only being revealed now, the PS5 Pro has been on everyone's lips for a while. Rumors about the console, including details about its hardware, have been circulating since last year.
Furthermore, at the end of August, Billbil-kun, who has once again proven himself to be a credible source in the gaming industry, had said that the reveal of Sony's console would happen "very soon." And he was right: the console was revealed at the beginning of September, just in time to hit the market for the holiday season.
In his leak, the French insider revealed an artwork with the supposed look of the PS5 Pro, stating that the console would be slightly larger than the Slim model and would have the addition of three black stripes in the middle of the console. In the end, the description correctly matched the device's presentation.
Shortly after the leak, Sony even published an official teaser showing the console's design in an image celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand. Now, we have official photos showing the console in full.

As predicted in the leaks, the PS5 Pro arrives with a new but different look. The console has three lines on the sides but follows the white design already known from previous models.
Additionally, the PS5 Pro only has a digital version and does not have a disc reader for physical media, which makes it look thinner. However, just like the PS5 Slim, a separate Blu-ray player can be bought and installed on the console.
The model will also be compatible with other existing accessories for the PS5, including the PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Access controller, Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore. Sony also indicates that the "stand" for using the console vertically is sold separately.
While the model's exterior is still familiar, the PS5 Pro has some great new features.
♦ PS5 Pro technical specifications ♦
Rumors about the PS5 Pro's technical specifications were also correct. In April of this year, The Verge revealed that it had access to a document with all the details about the device, which was confirmed at the event presented by Mark Cerny this Tuesday (10).
One of the most significant technical aspects of the PlayStation 5 Pro is PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This technology is Sony's answer to Nvidia's DLSS and AMD's FSR, aiming to improve frame rates and image quality.
But this isn't the only new feature. Sony points out that the PS5 Pro was designed based on three main pillars:
An Enhanced GPU
brings 67% more computing units and 28% faster memory. This means the console
delivers up to 45% more performance in games than the conventional PS5.
Ray Tracing
improves with technologies that will enhance game reflection and refraction
solutions. Sony promises two to three times better performance in Ray Tracing
than the PS5 Fat or Slim.

Artificial Intelligence Upscaling, with the already introduced PSSR, improves game resolution using AI. According to the company, the proprietary technology uses machine learning and promises to deliver more beautiful images on the new console.
♦ How much will the PS5 Pro cost? ♦
In addition to the hardware improvements, the PS5 Pro features 2TB of SSD storage. Like the PS5 Fat and Slim, it comes with the conventional DualSense controller and a copy of Astro's Playroom.
Sony also took advantage of Tuesday's event (10) to reveal the price of the PS5 Pro, which will cost US$699.99.
The PS5 Pro will launch on November 7, with pre-orders starting on September 26.
